Distance is not
a design constraint.
Bespoke landscape design for properties anywhere in the world. Site analysis from photography, surveys, and walkthroughs. A complete design plan delivered to you and executed through vetted local professionals.
The same design
discipline,
anywhere.
Most of our design discipline does not require being on your property. Site analysis can be conducted from high-resolution photography, drone footage, topographic surveys, soil test results, and a detailed video walkthrough. The process is built so that distance does not change the quality of the plan.
The remote consultation is not a lesser engagement. It is the same design rigor applied through a different site-reading toolkit. The deliverable is a complete estate blueprint - planting plan, hardscape specification, soil amendment protocol, phased installation schedule - designed for your specific site and executable by qualified local professionals.
We also provide a vetted local execution pathway. We help you identify and brief the right landscape contractors, nurseries, and specialists in your area. The design does not die on paper because we have thought through how it gets built.
This model was built for second home owners, international clients, and owners of properties in markets where finding a qualified regenerative landscape designer is difficult. Which is most markets.
What you receive.
A written strategy for your property, delivered in two to three weeks: site analysis, a prioritized action plan, plant palette and sourcing for your region, the incentive programs that apply in your state, and a 60-minute follow-up call to walk through it.
Hand it to your own landscaper, or ask us to brief one near you. If you later want a full master plan, the fee counts toward it.
Four steps to a remote design.
Understand the property and the vision.
A free 15-minute call about your property, your goals, and your timeline. If remote is the right fit, we agree scope and fee, and a longer strategy session follows once we have reviewed what you send.
We tell you exactly what to send.
A specific documentation kit: photo protocol, video walkthrough guide, soil test instructions, and any survey or topographic data you have. It is built to capture exactly what we need to read a property from a distance.
The complete design document.
Planting plan, hardscape specification, soil amendment protocol, phased installation schedule, and species sourcing guide - all adapted for your regional climate and local plant availability. Designed for your property, not for a generic site type.
A plan that can actually be built.
We identify and brief qualified local professionals who can execute the design. We remain available for questions during installation and can review progress photography to ensure the design is being executed correctly.
Three ways to engage.
From $1,500
The written strategy above, plus a 60-minute follow-up call. The right start for most remote properties, and for anyone evaluating land before buying it.
By arrangement
Strategic input as you need it while your own team builds: calls, document review, and progress-photo check-ins, drawn down by the hour.
By arrangement
For multi-property owners and projects running over several phases. Scheduled check-ins, a direct line, and one strategist across every property.
The documentation kit.
Once we agree scope, you get a short guide for each of these. Most clients gather it in a weekend.
- Photos from each corner of the property and every side of the house, plus close-ups of problem areas.
- A walking video, narrated, following the property line and the main paths.
- A survey or plat, if you have one. A screenshot of the county GIS parcel map works too.
- A soil test from your local extension office. We tell you where to send it.
- Drone footage, if available. Not required.
- Your goals: what you want to eat, see, and do on the land, and what budget you have in mind.
Three situations where remote fits.
The property you are not always at.
Second homes and vacation properties are often the most neglected landscapes precisely because the owner is not there to manage them. A properly designed landscape requires less management, not more. Remote design is built for this.
New England, the Hamptons, the Mountain West.
Our primary market is Northern Virginia, but the design discipline applies to any temperate property. The remote process is built for properties anywhere from New Hampshire to the Hamptons to the Carolina Piedmont, with a local installer carrying out the plan.
Anywhere with good photography and a soil test.
Time zones are manageable, and WhatsApp keeps the conversation easy. The process works anywhere the documentation is thorough, and we research the plants and programs that apply where you are.
Start with a
remote conversation.
Begin with a 15-minute discovery call. We will discuss your property, where it is, what you have, and whether the remote model is the right fit for your engagement.
